Of historical-artistic value are:
Architect: Enrique Sagnier
2. The main front to the crypt with indications of modernism (1904-1909) with the sculptures of Eusebio Arnau: the Virgen de la Merced in the centre and Saint James and Saint George on either side with the Evangelists as capitals.
4.To the right, the Chapel of the Perpetual Adoration of the Holy Eucharist, centred on an original monstrance and the al fresco painting of the Last Supper, the work of Miquel Farré (1947-1949).
6. The Hermitage, which was constructed in 1886. Although it lacks artistic value, it is interesting because of two concepts: it indicates that precise point where the mountain ended before any construction was started (518 metres). And from that year it was dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The first stone of the great construction had to wait sixteen and a half years and the actual construction itself eighteen years. 7. In the interior of the upper Temple is the Great Crucifix, the work of Joan Puigdollers, almost stylised in planes and illuminated with light that is tinted by the filigreed windows. At a certain height over the choir, together with a powerful organ are the coats of arms of the Hispanic nations. 8. The image of Saint Michael can be found on the keystone of the central door in the façade (the new door of the angel), which is the work of Arnau. Over the side doors is Saint Teresa of Jesus, with a university doctor’s hat and Saint Margarita Maria Alacoque. In the upper triangle, Saint John Bosco, the Temple prophet. 9. Upon reaching the terrace by the lift, one can contemplate the twelve Apostles in the surroundings. They consist of great stone statues by José Miret, who is also the author of the great bronze image that crowns the entire construction. This can be reached by an interior stairway in the central tower.
